Senior Staff QA Engineer - C/C++, Python, CXL, PCIe

Role Summary

Hands-on engineering role responsible for designing and implementing automation frameworks and test suites to validate firmware and software for PCIe, CXL, memory controller, and interconnect products.

Work with firmware and system teams to integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines, ensure protocol compliance and performance, and drive release-quality validation across multiple projects.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

• Design, develop, and maintain automation frameworks and production-grade test suites in Python and C/C++.
• Implement and run tests using Pytest (Python) and GTest (C/C++); add new test cases from scratch.
• Validate protocol compliance and performance for PCIe, CXL, memory controllers, and related interconnects.
• Integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines, enable automated test execution and gating, and troubleshoot pipeline failures.
• Debug test failures using language-appropriate debuggers and logs; triage root causes with cross-functional teams.
• Review code, enforce testing best practices, mentor junior and mid-level engineers, and contribute to architectural discussions.
• Enhance and refactor existing test suites to improve reliability and maintainability; leverage AI tools to generate or refine test scenarios when appropriate.

Requirements

Must-have and preferred qualifications:

• Must-have: 4–10 years of relevant experience developing and maintaining production-grade software and test automation in Python and C/C++.
• Must-have: Expert proficiency with Pytest and solid experience with C/C++ testing frameworks (GTest) and debugging tools (pdb, VSCode/PyCharm debuggers, GDB, IDE debuggers).
• Must-have: Experience integrating and running tests in CI/CD environments (examples: GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, Azure DevOps).
• Must-have: Familiarity with PCIe, CXL, memory controller, or interconnect protocol validation and performance testing.
• Must-have: Ability to review code, drive technical decisions, and mentor engineers across feature areas.
• Must-have: Eligibility to access export-controlled technology; applicants may be subject to export license review prior to employment.
• Nice-to-have: Experience with generative AI, prompt engineering, or AI-driven testing tools and workflow automation.
• Nice-to-have: Prior experience contributing across multiple projects and collaborating on cross-functional initiatives.
