Job Title
Senior Staff Product Engineer, Lifecycle Engineering
Role Summary
Lead sustaining engineering for mature, high-volume semiconductor products to ensure ongoing product health, yield, and manufacturing stability. Work within the Lifecycle Engineering team interfacing with Product Engineering, Test, Design, Quality, Operations and Supply Chain.
The role is hands-on and data-driven: you will lead technical initiatives to improve yield and test performance, resolve complex production issues, and optimise manufacturing across internal fabs and external suppliers.
Experience Level
Senior β typically 5β8 years of experience in semiconductor product, test, or design engineering, ideally with sustaining or lifecycle responsibilities.
Responsibilities
Primary duties include ownership of lifecycle activities, cross-functional problem solving, and data-driven process improvement.
- Lead yield improvement and margin optimisation initiatives across internal manufacturing sites and external suppliers (20%).
- Own lifecycle engineering from production ramp through end-of-life management, ensuring ongoing product health and stability (20%).
- Investigate and resolve critical production issues affecting quality, yield, or test performance using structured methodologies such as 8D and CAPA (20%).
- Partner with Test, Design, Quality, Operations, and Supply Chain to embed manufacturability, cost efficiency, and test optimisation into lifecycle activities (20%).
- Apply statistical data analysis and continuous improvement practices to identify optimisation opportunities and influence engineering decisions (20%).
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and professional experience for effective performance in the role.
- 5β8 years of experience in semiconductor product, test, or design engineering, preferably in sustaining or lifecycle roles.
- Proven experience in yield analysis, margin improvement, and cross-functional technical problem solving.
- Familiarity with ATE platforms such as Advantest or Teradyne, or equivalent bench test environments.
- Experience with statistical process control, data analysis, and design of experiments.
- Fluent professional English (written and spoken).
Nice-to-have:
- Experience working across global manufacturing sites and supplier networks.
- Proficiency with tools such as Excel, JMP, Galaxy, dataConductor, or similar analysis platforms.
- Exposure to high-speed serial interfaces, video/datacom systems, or JEDEC/Mil quality standards.
- Strong documentation discipline and a structured engineering approach.
- Ability to operate effectively in fast-paced production environments with competing priorities.
