Job Title
Senior/Staff Product Engineer (GenAI, AI/ML & Advanced Data Analytics)
Role Summary
Develop and scale GenAI, machine learning, and advanced data-analytics solutions for semiconductor product engineering. Work within the HIG HBM Product Engineering team to build intelligent systems that improve engineering productivity, decision-making, and insights across manufacturing, validation, and engineering workflows.
Collaborate with product, design, systems, data science, IT, and manufacturing teams to prototype, productionize, and operate AI-driven capabilities that improve quality, cost, cycle time, and engineering efficiency.
Experience Level
Senior / Staff level. The posting specifies a minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience developing and deploying AI applications in semiconductors, electronics, or other engineering industries.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include designing, implementing, and operating GenAI/AI/ML solutions for semiconductor engineering workflows.
- Design, build, and improve GenAI-powered and agentic systems for code generation, data extraction, analytics, documentation automation, failure triage, and technical knowledge retrieval.
- Develop scalable data pipelines and analytical workflows to ingest, clean, transform, and analyze large, heterogeneous datasets from multiple engineering and manufacturing systems.
- Perform deep data analysis and create visualizations using Python, SQL, and data-science libraries to deliver actionable engineering insights.
- Build, evaluate, and optimize LLM-based workflows including prompting, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), inference orchestration, benchmarking, and quality evaluation.
- Develop, productionize, and support machine learning and deep-learning models for classification, regression, anomaly detection, failure analysis, and decision support.
- Implement distributed data-processing techniques for data cleansing, outlier detection, and missing-data handling using large-scale frameworks.
- Support deployment, monitoring, and operationalization of AI/ML solutions in cloud and enterprise environments.
- Partner with domain experts and cross-functional teams to translate complex engineering problems into scalable AI/ML and analytics solutions.
- Communicate technical findings and recommendations clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Identify and lead high-impact opportunities to apply GenAI, ML, and analytics to improve engineering productivity and business outcomes.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience, followed by desirable skills.
- Minimum 2 years hands-on experience developing and deploying AI applications in semiconductors, electronics, or engineering industries.
- Proven experience developing and deploying AI/ML systems involving LLMs, including RAG and agentic workflows; experience with PyTorch or TensorFlow.
- Strong programming proficiency in Python and SQL.
- Strong data-analytics and visualization skills using libraries such as pandas, scikit-learn, matplotlib, and plotly.
- Experience with large-scale data processing frameworks (e.g., PySpark, BigQuery) and techniques for data cleansing, outlier handling, and missing-data treatment.
- Familiarity with agentic AI frameworks (e.g., LangGraph, Google ADK, AutoGen) and evaluation tools (e.g., AgentEval).
- Familiarity with modern AI coding / agentic coding tools and CLIs.
- Cloud experience with GCP, AWS, or Azure and deploying ML pipelines to production.
- Experience with LLM training, inference, prompt design, benchmarking, and validation workflows.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, software development, communication skills, and a sense of ownership and engineering rigor.
Nice-to-have (preferred):
- Experience building agentic systems or AI solutions specific to semiconductor manufacturing, validation, yield improvement, reliability, or failure analysis.
- Deep understanding of deep-learning architectures and computer-vision techniques.
- Experience with enterprise data platforms (BigQuery, Snowflake, MSSQL, Oracle, Redshift) and Kubernetes or similar deployment frameworks.
- Experience designing scalable, enterprise-grade AI/ML systems with emphasis on reliability, traceability, and operational readiness; familiarity with document-processing and technical-knowledge retrieval systems.
- Experience with web application technologies (JavaScript, HTML, CSS) is a plus.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field (as listed in the posting).
