Senior/Staff/Principal/MTS Engineer, Etch - Procurement and Operations Central Team (Advanced Development)
Role Summary
Member of the Technical Staff in Procurement and Operations Central Teams (PROCT) and Advanced Development Team (ADT) focusing on early maturity of new products as they transition from technology development centers to high-volume manufacturing sites.
Deliver process, hardware, and supplier solutions that improve yield, quality, and cost; collaborate with technology development, manufacturing, suppliers, and safety teams. International travel to Micron sites is required.
Experience Level

Responsibilities
Provide technical leadership across process development, supplier engagement, and manufacturing ramp activities.
- Collaborate with Technology Development to align manufacturing roadmap and model-of-record requirements with forward technology direction.
- Partner with TD and Manufacturing on supplier engagement to meet strategic objectives.
- Support new product introductions to improve performance and enable customer qualification.
- Coordinate with EHSS and Process Hazard Analysis engineers to ensure process safety compliance.
- Work with strategic suppliers and external consultants to collect benchmarking data and prioritize deliverables.
- Develop models for unit process and module-level control and road mapping.
- Maintain and develop expertise across multiple process, hardware, or technology areas and support peers on module/process/hardware optimization.
- Explore and implement AI concepts (LLMs/AI agents) into workflows and processes.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills, experience, and behaviors for success in this role.
- 5–7+ years troubleshooting, experimental design, and data analysis in semiconductor process development.
- 5–7+ years proven experience in semiconductor manufacturing areas such as Etch, Films, or Planarization.
- Solid understanding of hardware used for semiconductor processing.
- Strong knowledge of process control, engineering statistics, and Statistical Process Control (SPC).
- Understanding of solid-state device physics and process integration.
- Experience with semiconductor metrology, defect analysis, probe and test methodologies.
- Ability to work independently and in teams; good organization skills and willingness to travel internationally.
- Experience or interest in applying AI/agentic workflows to engineering processes (preferred when not already a listed required item).
Education Requirements
Minimum: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field. Preferred: Master's degree or PhD. (No certifications or equivalent-experience language was specified.)
