Senior Staff Post-Silicon Engineer

Role Summary

Senior Staff Post-Silicon Engineer responsible for validating SerDes IP and mixed-signal interfaces through post-silicon functional testing and debug. The role works with architecture, design, verification, board, platform, and manufacturing teams to close functional issues and improve validation methodology.

Primary mission: ensure reliability, performance, and functional correctness of SerDes-based designs by developing validation plans, debugging failures, and maintaining post-silicon validation workflows and reports.

Experience Level

Senior level. Minimum of 7+ years of relevant industry experience (per hiring minimums); leadership and independent ownership of validation efforts expected.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include planning and executing post-silicon validation, debugging mixed-signal issues, and improving validation infrastructure.

  • Design, develop, and execute functional validation plans for SerDes IP and mixed-signal interfaces.
  • Create and improve validation frameworks, methodologies, and workflows.
  • Perform root-cause analysis and systematic debugging of mixed-signal and I/O failures.
  • Build and maintain post-silicon validation infrastructure, test harnesses, and status reporting.
  • Generate clear validation reports summarizing test activities, results, and recommended fixes.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with architecture, design, verification, board, platform, and manufacturing teams to resolve issues and optimize validation processes.

  • Must-have: Practical experience with I/O principles and mixed-signal testing approaches.

  • Nice-to-have: Experience developing validation infrastructure and specialized testing tools.
  • Nice-to-have: Electrical validation and debugging experience with high-speed SerDes (e.g., 224G+).
  • Nice-to-have: Programming experience with Python, C, or C++ for test tooling and automation.

Education Requirements

Minimum: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline (or equivalent practical experience) plus 7+ years of relevant experience. Preferred: post-graduate degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
