Senior Staff Optical Product Engineer
Role Summary
Lead product engineering for optical sub-assemblies and silicon photonics modules through new product introduction (NPI) into high-volume manufacturing. Work closely with design, test, quality, equipment vendors and contract manufacturers across Taiwan, Singapore, and the United States to develop processes, fixtures, and production flows.
Experience Level
Senior-level. Typical experience expectation: 7+ years with a BS or 5+ years with an MS in relevant optical product development or manufacturing roles.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities focus on taking optical products from design into mass production and improving manufacturing yield, cost, and reliability.
- Drive NPI of optical sub-assemblies from design handoff through volume production.
- Define and qualify processes, equipment, and fixtures with contract manufacturers and suppliers.
- Implement yield-improvement programs and DFM requirements to reduce cost and variability.
- Support DFMEA activities and reliability risk mitigation plans.
- Lead failure analysis and RMA investigations to identify root causes and corrective actions.
- Coordinate product characterization and production qualification efforts.

Education Requirements
