Job Title

Senior Staff Engineer — Technology Development, Foundry Engineering

Role Summary

Lead technical partner for foundry customers across the product development lifecycle, from design tape-out and pre-silicon evaluation through testing, qualification, and production ramp. Work within Logic Technology Development to provide device engineering, product/process integration, yield engineering, and far-backend (test, bump, assembly) expertise.

Experience Level

Senior-level; typical candidates have multiple years of relevant semiconductor/foundry experience (see Education Requirements for specific degree-plus-experience guidance).

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include customer-facing technical leadership, cross-functional coordination, and ensuring product readiness for production.

  • Drive end-to-end MPW and NPI execution across front-end processing through far-backend operations.
  • Serve as primary customer interface for wafer status, silicon health, device performance, and technical issues.
  • Lead post-silicon characterization, model-to-hardware correlation, and device performance optimization.
  • Develop predictive yield models and lead deep-dive yield investigations using FI/FA and root-cause analysis.
  • Coordinate cross-functional responses and maintain the product Plan of Record.
  • Oversee wafer manufacturing execution to enable seamless transition into High Volume Manufacturing (HVM).
  • Provide regular, data-driven updates to senior leadership and customer teams.

Requirements

Must-have technical experience and capabilities; preferred items listed separately.

  • 4+ years of experience in at least one of: product/process integration engineering, device engineering, or yield engineering.
  • Experience in post-silicon characterization, model-to-hardware correlation, or failure analysis (FI/FA).
  • Proven ability to coordinate cross-functional teams and drive technical execution.
  • Customer-facing experience communicating technical status and resolving customer-specific integration issues.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with Gate-All-Around (GAA) technology nodes.
  • Foundry customer engagement experience or collaboration with fabless companies during product development.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence across organizations and strong stakeholder management and leadership skills.

Education Requirements

Minimum: Master's degree plus 6+ years of relevant industry experience, or PhD plus 4+ years. Fields: Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, Chemical Engineering, or related engineering or physical science disciplines.
