Job Title

Senior Staff Engineer, RISC-V Software Workload Enablement

Role Summary

Lead the porting and enablement of AI and server compute workloads onto RISC-V-based hardware. You will drive migration efforts, optimize software stacks for real-world performance, and coordinate across DevOps, IT, compiler, and silicon teams.

This is an individual contributor role with opportunity to grow and lead a small, specialized team as workload migration efforts scale.

Experience Level

Senior-level (Senior Staff / Principal engineer). The posting targets senior candidates; the hiring level may be adjusted during interview. Years of experience not explicitly specified.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include technical leadership of workload migration and ensuring production performance on Tenstorrent RISC-V systems.

  • Lead porting and enablement of AI/ML and server compute workloads to RISC-V architectures.
  • Profile, troubleshoot, and optimize software stacks (OS, runtimes, compilers, libraries) for new architectures.
  • Design and implement DevOps/IT strategies for compute migration and deployment.
  • Coordinate cross-functional efforts between infrastructure, DevOps, compiler, and chip engineering teams.
  • Develop reproducible methodologies and tooling for workload delivery and performance validation.
  • Mentor and potentially grow a small engineering pod focused on workload enablement.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and constraints for the role.

  • Extensive experience in workload porting, DevOps engineering, or application enablement for high-performance compute.
  • Deep knowledge of system software, compilers, or low-level OS internals and proven experience troubleshooting and optimizing across architectures.
  • Strong familiarity with CPU architectures and system design; practical experience with ARM or x86 environments and applying that knowledge to new ISAs.
  • Proven ability to coordinate across multiple technical teams and drive delivery-focused projects.
  • Execution-oriented mindset: prioritize technical delivery, reproducible methodology, and measurable performance outcomes.
  • Preferred: experience with AI/ML workloads, compiler toolchains, performance engineering, and production deployment of compute clusters.
  • Employment contingent on eligibility to access U.S. export-controlled technology; may require U.S. citizenship, permanent residency, or prior license approval. Offers may be rescinded if export compliance prevents employment.

Education Requirements

BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
