Senior Staff Engineer, IC Architect - System

Role Summary

Manager of the system and application team for Renesas India Power Business Division. Owns product definition, system-level architecture, customer support, and product roadmap for power-management products.

Works across marketing, sales, FAE, design engineering and global teams to define product requirements, validate prototypes, and support customer design-in and field issues.

Experience Level

Senior-level. Requires 12+ years of experience in the power management space with semiconductor companies.

Responsibilities

The role combines product definition, customer support, technical training, and team leadership. Key responsibilities include:

• Identify market opportunities and collaborate with Marketing, Sales and Business leadership to drive adoption.
• Provide technical sales/FAE support: circuit reviews, debugging, troubleshooting and field-return analysis.
• Define product and product-family roadmaps based on market and customer requirements.
• Produce detailed Product Requirements and specification documents; resolve trade-offs with design engineering.
• Translate device-level system use cases into product specifications and ensure they meet customer needs.
• Participate in FPGA-based prototyping and board-level silicon evaluation against validation plans.
• Drive system modelling requirements and guide creation of application validation plans to cover corner cases.
• Develop customer-facing collateral and provide technical training to internal and external stakeholders.
• Recruit, build and manage the team as business needs evolve.

Requirements

Practical technical skills and leadership capabilities required for the role.

Must-have:

• Minimum 12 years' experience in power management within semiconductor companies, including product definition and customer engagement.
• Hands-on lab experience in debugging, probing and characterizing circuits and silicon using power supplies, e-loads, oscilloscopes, network analyzers and related equipment.
• Board-level analog and digital circuit design and PCB schematic/layout experience.
• Experience with circuit simulators (SIMPLIS or similar) and understanding of control-loop theory for power converters.
• Programming proficiency in C and Python for test automation and analysis; experience automating lab testing.
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams, present to diverse audiences, and support sales/marketing with technical content.
• Willingness to travel as required.

Nice-to-have:

• Experience with FEA tools for thermal/electrical/magnetic analysis, data analysis tools like Excel or JMP.
• Familiarity with AEC-Q, IATF, ISO 26262 (FuSa) concepts at a basic level.
• Experience in FPGA prototyping and silicon validation methodologies.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics Engineering or a related discipline.
