Senior Analog Layout Engineer

Role Summary

As a Senior Analog Layout Engineer you will create physical layouts for analog/mixed-signal IPs (PLLs, oscillators, data converters, power management, IO) and collaborate with global design and SoC teams to deliver production-quality IP across advanced process nodes.

The role involves cross-site collaboration with layout and ACC teams in Eindhoven, Austin, France and Noida to support IP integration and SoC requirements.

Experience Level

Senior — typically 3–7 years of hands-on analog mixed-signal layout experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include:

• Perform layout of analog/mixed-signal IPs: PLLs, crystal oscillators, bias/reference circuits, LDOs, IRCs, data converters, and high-speed/general IOs.
• Collaborate with design, verification and SoC teams to meet electrical, timing and area requirements.
• Conduct ESD and layout reviews at multiple design stages and support SoC integration reviews.
• Implement layout matching and common-centroid placement; perform EM/IR analysis and ensure IO pad ring correctness.
• Support tasks ranging from small sub-block layouts to complex top-level IP layout and provide EM/IR analysis where required.

Requirements

Core requirements (must-have):

• 3–7 years of analog/mixed-signal IP layout experience.
• Hands-on layout experience for PLLs, oscillators, bias/reference circuits, LDOs, IRCs, IOs and data converters.
• Experience with advanced process nodes (examples: 5nm, 16ffc, 22fdx, 28nm, 40nm).
• Strong analog layout techniques: matching, common-centroid, IO pad ring, EM/IR awareness.
• Proficiency with Cadence Virtuoso and back-end view generation (LEF, ndm, Milkyway).
• Ability to collaborate with geographically distributed teams and support SoC-level requirements and reviews.

Nice-to-have:

• Prior experience performing EM/IR simulations and formal ESD/layout sign-off procedures.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
