Senior Staff Engineer, Digital Verification (SystemVerilog/UVM, AMBA)

Role Summary

Lead verification engineer in a large RFC/RFIC/DFT organization responsible for block- and full-chip digital verification of complex SoC and mixed-signal designs. Works closely with RTL designers and system architects to define verification strategies and execute UVM-based verification and debug.

On-site role in San Jose, CA focused on RFID, CPU/subsystems, high-speed IO, GNSS blocks, and mixed-signal integration.

Experience Level

Senior — requires approximately 15+ years of hands-on verification experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include:

• Design and build UVM environments from scratch for block and full-chip verification.
• Develop constrained-random and directed tests and implement functional coverage models.
• Manage regression runs, analyze coverage metrics, and close verification gaps.
• Perform deep RTL and protocol-level debugging and root-cause analysis.
• Collaborate with RTL designers, architects, and system teams to define verification strategy.
• Support low-power verification using UPF and integrate mixed-signal verification where required.

Requirements

Must-have skills and experience:

• 15+ years of practical digital verification experience using SystemVerilog and UVM.
• Strong knowledge of AMBA protocols (AXI, AHB, APB) and interfaces such as SPI, UART, JTAG, TileLink, or custom interconnects.
• Solid CPU/SoC fundamentals: processor architecture, cache coherency, and memory hierarchy.
• Experience with Cadence-based EDA tools; familiarity with VCS/Questa and formal verification is a plus.
• Proven debugging skills, protocol-level analysis, and ability to deliver in an execution-driven, on-site environment.

Nice-to-have:

• Experience with RFID chip verification, GNSS blocks, high-speed IO, and server interconnects.
• Exposure to DMS/mixed-signal verification and low-power methodology.
