Job Title
Senior Staff Engineer - Design Verification
Role Summary
Work within the Data Centre Engineering Group to verify complex custom silicon for data-center networking, switching, connectivity, and compute. The role focuses on architecting and implementing verification environments, executing thorough test plans, debugging failures, and collaborating closely with logic designers to close coverage and validate design performance and correctness.
Experience Level
Senior. The posting specifies Bachelor's (CS/EE) with 8+ years of relevant experience, or Master's (CS/EE) with 6+ years of relevant experience.
Responsibilities
Main responsibilities include building and running verification environments and driving validation to completion.
- Architect and implement simulation testbenches using UVM/SystemVerilog.
- Develop and execute detailed test plans to verify design correctness and performance.
- Debug failures from simulation to identify root causes and drive fixes.
- Coordinate with logic designers for test-plan development, execution, debug, coverage closure, and gate-level simulations.
- Contribute to verification methodology, coverage analysis, and quality-improvement initiatives.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience; nice-to-have items noted separately.
-
Must-have: Strong background in IP verification, including methodology and testbench development.
-
Must-have: Proficient in Verilog, SystemVerilog, and UVM; experience with C/C++ for verification tasks.
-
Must-have: Solid understanding of verification methodologies: OOP, directed/random testing, white-box/black-box testing, coverage analysis, and gate-level simulation.
-
Must-have: Strong analytical, problem-solving, multitasking, communication, and teamwork skills; able to interface effectively across levels.
-
Must-have: Experience working on processor-based subsystems.
-
Nice-to-have: Experience with hardware security verification.
