Role Summary

Senior engineering role on the TCAD team focused on advancing device and process simulation workflows by combining physics-driven TCAD with Python automation and applied AI/ML.

The role works with core R&D, product, and applications teams to develop, validate, and scale production-quality simulation workflows, validation flows, and release automation.

Experience Level

Senior — typically requires 5+ years of industry experience in TCAD, semiconductor device physics, or process simulation.

Responsibilities

Core responsibilities include developing TCAD workflows, improving models and engines, and implementing automation and AI-driven validation to support release processes.

• Develop, enhance, and maintain TCAD simulation workflows for device and process modeling across advanced semiconductor technologies.
• Analyze and benchmark device physics models, process flows, and simulation engines; collaborate with R&D to drive improvements.
• Design and implement Python-based tools, APIs, and automation frameworks to improve workflow robustness, usability, and scalability.
• Apply AI and Python approaches to improve efficiency and automation of regression analysis, validation flows, and release readiness metrics.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate engineering requirements into production-quality software solutions.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience for successful performance in this role.

• 5+ years industry experience in TCAD, semiconductor device physics, or process simulation.
• Strong proficiency in Python for scientific computing, automation, and tooling.
• Experience applying AI/ML techniques to engineering workflows.
• Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving ability, and communication skills.

Nice-to-have:

• Experience applying ML frameworks to scientific or engineering problems.
• Exposure to EDA tool development or semiconductor R&D environments.
• Experience supporting large-scale validation or release processes.

Education Requirements

MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, Computer Science, or a closely related technical field — or equivalent practical experience.
