Senior Staff Digital Design Engineer

Role Summary

The Senior Staff Digital Design Engineer will join the IC development team to define and develop market-leading complex power management solutions. This role involves collaboration with marketing and customers, proposal of innovative solutions, and oversight of digital backend design.

Experience Level

Senior level with over 12 years of relevant industry experience in FPGA or IC design.

Responsibilities

The responsibilities for this role include:

• Collaborate with marketing and customers to define system-level requirements and IC specifications.
• Propose innovative solutions to achieve specifications.
• Develop, debug, and verify digital designs in pre and post-silicon environments.
• Oversee digital backend design tasks including synthesis, STA, P&R, and logic equivalence checking.
• Collaborate on block integration in complex mixed-signal designs.
• Coach and mentor junior team members.

Requirements

Must-have qualifications:

• MSc/PhD university degree.
• Proficiency in HDL languages such as Verilog, SystemVerilog, or VHDL.
• Experience in architecting digital designs and writing device-level specifications.
• Competence in developing design constraints for synthesis, STA, and P&R hand-off.
• Experience with gate-level simulations and debug.
• Knowledge of advanced verification methodologies (e.g., UVM).
• Good communication skills in English.

Nice-to-have qualifications:

• Proficient in programming/scripting languages (Perl, Python, Skill, TCL, C/C++, etc.).
• Exposure to mixed signal designs and basic knowledge of analog circuits.
• Expertise in digital backend design flow (synthesis / STA / P&R).
• Familiarity with DFT insertion and ATPG generation.
• Experience with Cadence or Synopsys design tools.
• Experience implementing and verifying ECOs on post-route netlist.

Education Requirements

A MSc or PhD degree in a relevant field is required.
