Senior Staff Design Verification Engineer
Role Summary
Lead verification efforts for d-Matrix's programmable in-memory computing SoC architecture. Collaborate with architecture, RTL, and bring-up teams to define and execute verification plans through tape-out and initial silicon bring-up.
Hybrid role based at the Santa Clara, CA headquarters; focused on building verification environments and ensuring tape-out quality for AI-oriented products.
Experience Level
Senior-level. Typical background: BS in EE/CS with 12+ years industry experience or MS in EE/CS with 7+ years (see Education Requirements for details).
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include owning SoC verification, developing testbenches, and leading tape-out verification activities.
- Lead SoC verification from architecture through tape-out and silicon bring-up.
- Design, implement, and maintain UVM-based verification environments and testbenches.
- Create constrained-random tests, coverage plans, and assertions using SystemVerilog.
- Debug ASIC/SoC design and verification issues across RTL, simulation, and bring-up.
- Drive verification planning, coverage closure, and release readiness for tape-out.
- Mentor and guide verification engineers and collaborate with architecture and design teams.
- Integrate software/C/C++/SystemC components into verification flows as needed.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience for immediate contribution.
- Proven experience in SoC verification cycle including architecture, tape-out, and bring-up.
- Strong hands-on ASIC/SoC verification and debug experience.
- Fluent in SystemVerilog, including constrained randomization, coverage, and assertions.
- Experience with verification methodologies (UVM/OVM/VMM).
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment.
- Experience leading creation and implementation of verification environments and tape-out efforts.
- Preferred: experience with C/C++ and SystemC.
Education Requirements
BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field with 12+ years of industry experience; or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field preferred with 7+ years of industry experience.
