Senior Staff Design Engineer, Automotive
Monolithic Power SystemsJob Title
Senior Staff Design Engineer, Automotive
Role Summary
Design and deliver automotive power-management ICs (PMICs) including switching regulators, LDOs, load switches and Class-D audio amplifiers. Work across the full product development cycle from circuit design through validation and release, with required consideration of automotive functional safety.
Experience Level
Senior - requires 10+ years of analog circuit design experience.
Responsibilities
Core responsibilities include transistor- and system-level analog/mixed-signal design and supporting product release activities.
- Design analog and mixed-signal PMICs (buck/boost/buck-boost, LDOs, load switches, LED drivers, Class-D amplifiers).
- Perform transistor-level and system-level circuit design, simulation, and behavioral modeling (SIMPLIS).
- Supervise layout and ensure design-for-manufacture and testability.
- Integrate automotive functional safety considerations into designs.
- Participate in requirements definition, verification, and product release processes.
- Support ATE development and implement Design-for-Test (DFT) methods.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience.
- 10+ years of hands-on analog circuit design focused on power management and mixed-signal ICs.
- Experience with switching regulator topologies (buck/boost/buck-boost) and high-performance LDOs.
- Experience designing LED drivers, load switches, PMICs or similar automotive power circuits.
- Strong transistor-level design, circuit simulation, and system-level verification skills.
- Experience supervising layout and applying DFT/ATE support.
- Familiarity with SIMPLIS or equivalent behavioral modeling tools.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
Nice-to-have: high-voltage design experience; experience with ADC (SAR, delta-sigma), DAC, AFE, amplifiers/op-amps; Class-D amplifier experience; prior automotive functional-safety project experience.
Education Requirements
PhD or MSEE in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field is listed in the posting. The role specifies these degrees alongside the expectation of 10+ years of analog circuit design experience.
