Senior/Staff Configuration Applications Engineer
Role Summary
Lead FPGA configuration enablement and product hardening efforts, provide technical support to customers, and deliver design examples and documentation to promote reliable FPGA configuration and programming solutions.
Work with product, validation, and support teams to debug configuration issues and drive corrective actions.
Experience Level

Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
- Lead application pre-enabling, product development, and product hardening to launch new FPGA products.
- Serve as a technical expert and trusted advisor for configuration enablement and differentiation.
- Debug configuration-related issues, determine root cause, and drive corrective action across teams.
- Develop and validate design examples on development kits to demonstrate configuration features.
- Create technical collateral: device handbook content, user guides, tutorials, and application notes.
- Deliver training and collateral to support adoption of FPGA configuration and programming solutions.
Requirements
Minimum qualifications and skills required:
- Minimum 3+ years of relevant experience in FPGA/CPLD technologies, digital design, or hardware debug.
- Board bring-up and systematic hardware/board debugging experience.
- Experience with digital logic design, industrial I/O standards, and flash interfaces.
- RTL and HDL experience (Verilog/VHDL); proficiency in C and Python for tools or test development.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to drive issues to closure and work independently.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
Nice-to-have:
- Embedded boot experience (U-Boot, Linux).
- Board logic design experience including device interconnection and flash interface design.
- Experience with device security topics such as encryption and authentication.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related STEM field. Documentation of degree completion is required. The posting also notes relevant experience from schoolwork, projects, internships, or military service can be considered.
