Role Summary
Provide technical application engineering and customer-facing support for Synopsys sign‑off solutions addressing power integrity, signal integrity, EM/thermal reliability, and timing at advanced process nodes.
Work on the Applications Engineering team to deploy tools, automate workflows, diagnose customer issues, and feed real customer problems back to R&D and product teams.
Experience Level
Mid-level (4–8 years of relevant industry experience).
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include customer-facing deployment, debugging, automation, and collaboration with product engineering.
- Deploy and support Synopsys sign‑off solutions for customers, IP providers, and foundries working at advanced nodes (5nm, 3nm, 2nm).
- Diagnose power, signal, EM/ESD, thermal reliability, and advanced timing issues on real designs and recommend practical paths forward.
- Collaborate with software developers, architects, and product specialists to improve EDA tools and workflows.
- Develop automation and analysis scripts in TCL and Python to accelerate customer debug and reduce turnaround time.
- Document technical findings, create application notes, and present results to customers and internal teams.
- Participate in customer engagements across design phases, from early exploration to late-stage tapeout support.
- Travel occasionally to customer sites or internal meetings when hands-on collaboration is required.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience, plus a few desirable qualifications.
- 4–8 years of hands-on experience in power integrity, signal integrity, or reliability closure for semiconductor designs.
- Proficiency in TCL and Python for scripting, automation, and workflow development.
- Strong problem‑solving skills for debugging discrepancies between models and silicon behavior.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for clear customer interactions and technical documentation.
- Willingness to travel occasionally for customer meetings, training, or internal collaboration.
Nice to have:
- Experience with advanced-node design challenges at 7nm or below.
- Experience working across foundries, IP providers, and semiconductor companies.
