Senior Staff Application Engineer - Power Management

Role Summary

Senior technical contributor on the Performance Computing Power applications team focused on server and AI infrastructure. Work cross-functionally with marketing, device engineering, firmware, IC design and other application engineers to define and deliver power-management solutions for server platforms.

Experience Level

Senior-level individual contributor. Requires 10+ years of experience in the power management industry.

Responsibilities

Provide system-level application support and technical leadership across product development, validation, and customer engagements.

• Visit customer sites to debug and validate digital multiphase power products and resolve complex issues.
• Match customer requirements to product/solution options and support marketing with technical input.
• Contribute to system validation of modules, power stages, controllers and related products.
• Collaborate with designers to provide implementation and verification details.
• Produce technical collateral: datasheets, performance reports, and application notes.
• Train and mentor other application and field engineers on products and best practices.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience.

• Minimum 10+ years in the power management industry.
• Experience supporting MOSFETs, GaN devices, and power stage design.
• Familiarity with digitally enabled power-management products and digital multiphase PWM controllers.
• Understanding and application of control-loop theory for power converters.
• Experience with multiphase DC/DC converters and mixed-signal IC/system integration.
• Proficiency with lab equipment: network analyzers, oscilloscopes, waveform generators, and related measurement tools.
• Ability to travel to customer sites in the US and Asia.

Education Requirements

BS in engineering required (Electrical Engineering / Power Electronics preferred). MS degree preferred. (No mention of equivalent-experience language.)
