Job Title
Senior Staff Analog and Mixed-Signal IC Design Engineer
Role Summary
Member of the Central Engineering analog team responsible for architecture, circuit implementation, verification, and lab characterization of mixed-signal IP used across Marvell product lines.
Primary focus on CMOS transceiver/SERDES and high-speed/low-power analog blocks such as PLLs, ADCs/DACs, TX/RX, CDRs and regulators.
Experience Level
Senior — senior staff engineering role. Typical experience ranges indicated: Bachelor's +5–10 years, or Master/PhD with 3–5 years.
Responsibilities
The role includes architecture, circuit design, verification, layout oversight, testing, and cross-functional integration to meet product performance targets.
- Architect and implement mixed-signal circuits: PLLs, DLLs, ADCs/DACs, TX/RX, CDRs, amplifiers, filters, bandgaps, and regulators.
- Perform circuit-level design and verification using SPICE, Spectre, MATLAB and related tools.
- Develop and supervise layout and physical design activities in advanced nanometer CMOS processes.
- Plan and execute lab characterization, prototype validation, debugging, and collaborate with test engineers.
- Produce design documentation and application specifications; support customers and FAEs as needed.
- Collaborate with digital and SoC teams for design integration and cross-functional verification.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience. Degree and formal education expectations are listed under Education Requirements.
- Strong knowledge of deep sub-micron CMOS technologies and device behavior.
- Hands-on design experience with mixed-signal blocks (ADCs, DACs, PLLs, TX/RX, CDRs, regulators, amplifiers).
- Experience with low-power and high-speed analog design techniques.
- Proficiency with IC design and simulation tools such as Spectre, SPICE and MATLAB; familiarity with HSPICE/Hsim and Verilog is beneficial.
- Lab testing and measurement skills for prototype evaluation and debugging.
- Ability to supervise layout/physical design and work with layout engineers.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; able to work independently and in cross-functional teams.
- Candidates may need eligibility to access export-controlled technology; some applicants may be subject to export license review.
Education Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or a related technical field with 5–10 years of relevant professional experience; or a Master’s degree and/or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related fields with 3–5 years of experience. Equivalent practical experience may be considered.
