Senior Specialist, Electrical Engineer - Digital Hardware Engineer
Role Summary
Design and deliver digital hardware for data acquisition and computing systems supporting mission-critical defense products. Work on high-speed digital and mixed-signal circuits through specification, simulation, layout support, integration, and verification.
Position based in Palm Bay, FL on an engineering team responsible for printed wiring board (PWB/CCA) and digital circuit designs used in embedded systems.
Experience Level

Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
- Develop digital circuits for data acquisition and computing systems.
- Generate specifications and select components for high-speed digital designs.
- Perform simulations, timing analysis, and design verification.
- Support PWB/CCA schematic capture and layout activities.
- Execute integration and verification testing of digital hardware.
- Design mixed-signal circuits including ADC/DAC, processors, I/O communication, and programmable logic (FPGA/CPLD).
- Work independently to produce digital CCA design solutions and documentation.
Requirements
Must-have qualifications and skills:
- Proven experience with high-complexity digital design techniques and devices.
- Experience with high-speed memory and network interfaces and associated protocols.
- Experience with FPGA/CPLD-based designs and mixed-signal integration.
- Hands-on hardware debugging skills and familiarity with signal generators, logic analyzers, and digital oscilloscopes.
- Experience performing integration, verification testing, and timing analysis for PWB/CCA designs.
- Ability to obtain a U.S. security clearance.
- Ability to work independently and contribute to cross-disciplinary engineering teams.
Nice-to-have:
- Leadership experience on design teams and negotiation skills across hardware, software, and systems engineering.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 6 years relevant experience, or a graduate degree with 4 years relevant experience, or 10 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree. Specific fields of study were not specified; equivalent practical experience is accepted per the stated alternatives.
