Senior Software Verification Engineer, Embedded Software, Datacenters & Energy

Role Summary

Verify embedded software for power-management products used in datacenter and energy systems. Work within the Software and Digital Platforms Group in Valencia to design and execute verification plans, automate testing, and ensure releases meet security, reliability, and real-time requirements.

Responsibilities

Define and execute verification activities for embedded power-management software, focusing on automation, traceability, and release quality.

  • Understand datacenter power-control topologies and verify related requirements.
  • Define test specifications from requirements and develop automated test code to build and maintain regression suites with full traceability.
  • Identify and implement test automation tools and libraries within an embedded test framework.
  • Run tests, analyze results, identify defects, perform root-cause analysis, and collaborate with developers on fixes.
  • Verify and sign off software releases against acceptance criteria; prepare concise test reports summarizing findings and recommendations.
  • Develop and maintain CI/CD workflows, version control practices, static analysis, and automated testing for embedded systems.

Requirements

Key qualifications and practical skills required and preferred for the role.

Must-have

  • 5+ years industry experience in embedded systems or software testing.
  • Minimum 3 years hands-on experience developing test code using Python and PyTest.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or GitHub Actions and maintaining CI/CD workflows for embedded systems.
  • Basic familiarity with embedded protocols: I2C, SPI, UART, CAN.
  • Working knowledge of signal processing concepts (filters, FFTs, harmonic distortion).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to document test plans, reports, and root-cause analyses.

Nice-to-have

  • Knowledge of power systems and DC/DC conversion.
  • Experience with containerization (Docker).
  • ISTQ certification.
  • Experience in software development with C/C++ and testing frameworks (Ceedling, Unity, GoogleTest).
  • Experience with code coverage tools such as gcov.
  • Familiarity with Agile workflows (Scrum or Kanban).

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science.
