Job Title

Senior Software Program Manager - Datacenter Compute Server

Role Summary

Join the Compute Software platform team to plan and drive software and firmware releases for datacenter servers, rack solutions, and PCIe products. The role coordinates cross-functional engineering teams, customers (CSPs/OEMs), and third parties to deliver production-ready compute software.

Experience Level

Senior-level; typically 12+ years of relevant experience in software program or release management for datacenter or system software/firmware.

Responsibilities

Lead and execute software and firmware release programs for datacenter-class products and maintain release schedules and plans of record.

  • Lead release planning, maintain schedules, run status meetings, and provide executive updates.
  • Collect requirements, define priorities, and drive scheduling across development and release phases.
  • Manage customer releases and translate customer requirements into actionable plans and status reports.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams including HW, FW, SW, OEMs/ODMs, CSPs, and third-party vendors across time zones.
  • Drive process documentation and continuous improvement of product development and release workflows.
  • Support technical issue resolution and escalate or resolve resource conflicts to keep programs on track.
  • Maintain visibility of parallel workstreams and dependencies.

Requirements

Must-have skills and experience:

  • Proven track record delivering complex datacenter products to customers; experience with datacenter servers and related software highly desired.
  • Hands-on experience with software development and release processes for system software and firmware.
  • Strong knowledge of software engineering principles and experience with configuration management tools.
  • Experience with process automation and productivity tools.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize competing tasks, and build consensus across teams.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and technical presentation skills.
  • Detail-oriented with ability to multitask in a dynamic environment with shifting priorities.
  • Familiarity with the full software stack that runs on GPUs and related system components.

Nice-to-have:

  • Operating systems principles, Linux OS experience, and systems programming in modern languages.
  • Experience coordinating activities between hardware, firmware, and software organizations; PCIe, GPU, or NIC domain knowledge.
  • Experience with Agile tools and interactions with cloud service providers.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree (BS) in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience. No specific advanced degree or certifications required in the posting.
