Role Summary
Senior software engineer on the NVIDIA Networking Business Unit developing data-forwarding and NFV software for Ethernet switching platforms and SmartNICs (BlueField DPU). The role focuses on implementing and maintaining forwarding and offload features and translating control-plane constructs into the hardware data plane for Cumulus Linux and related solutions.
Experience Level
Senior-level. Typically requires 10+ years of software development experience in data forwarding on Ethernet switching silicon and/or SmartNIC offload.
Responsibilities
Design, implement, test and maintain forwarding and offload features across switching platforms and SmartNICs; collaborate across teams and lead large feature efforts.
- Design, develop, test, and maintain forwarding and offload functionality (routing, ACLs, QoS, CLAG, NAT, policy-based routing, VxLAN-EVPN, etc.).
- Implement data forwarding on Ethernet switching platforms and SmartNICs according to product roadmaps.
- Translate control-plane constructs into hardware data plane implementations within Cumulus Linux and related components.
- Collaborate with architects, QA, support, and cross-functional teams on feature definition, releases, and defect resolution.
- Lead and guide multi-functional teams on large feature developments; take ownership from design through delivery.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience; followed by items that make a candidate stand out.
- 10+ years of software development experience in data forwarding on Ethernet switching silicon and/or offload on SmartNICs.
- Strong and validated experience in C programming.
- Proven problem solving, system design, coding and debugging skills.
- Experience leading feature development and delivering complex features with minimal supervision.
- Ability to learn new requirements and technologies quickly and prototype solutions.
Nice-to-have:
