Senior Software Engineer - Networking and Virtualization
Role Summary
Develop and deliver software stacks and solutions for NVIDIA Connect‑X NICs and BlueField DPUs. Collaborate with internal architecture and development teams, pre-sale teams, and customer R&D to build prototypes and productize networking and virtualization features.
This is a hands-on engineering role focused on server and cloud networking, virtualization, and high-performance I/O.
Experience Level
Senior — typically 5+ years of practical software development experience.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Work with customer R&D to understand applications, requirements, and integration needs.
- Build proof-of-concept prototypes and drive them toward productization.
- Design, implement, test, and maintain software for networking and virtualization stacks.
- Collaborate closely with NVIDIA development, architecture, and pre-sales teams.
- Debug and tune system and network performance in Linux environments.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience:
- 5+ years of practical software development experience.
- Strong C/C++ programming skills (user and/or kernel mode).
- Hands-on Linux development experience; experience with Python.
- Deep networking knowledge and familiarity with protocols such as VLAN, GRE, VXLAN, MPLS, IPSEC, PSP, etc.
- Experience with cloud-networking and virtualization technologies.
- Strong design, coding, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
- Effective cross-functional collaboration and ability to work with limited supervision.
- Nice-to-have: RDMA, Open vSwitch (OvS), DPDK, SR-IOV, VIRTIO, storage stacks, system architecture, PCIe, system performance tuning.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
