Job Title

Senior Software Engineer - Manufacturing and Factory

Role Summary

Design and operationalize rack-scale factory and initial data-center deployment flows for next-generation NVIDIA data center products. The role focuses on end-to-end factory workflows including firmware flashing, security provisioning, diagnostics, and deployment tooling to ensure reliable production ramps.

Work cross-functionally with data center architects, ODMs/OEMs, simulation/emulation teams, and software/firmware engineers to deliver scalable, debuggable, and manufacturable systems.

Experience Level

Senior-level. The posting specifies 8+ years of experience in system architecture and design.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include designing and driving manufacturing and deployment workflows for rack-scale systems and ensuring reliability and debuggability across hardware and software.

  • Lead and drive rack-scale/L11 factory and initial data-center deployment flows.
  • Design and implement end-to-end factory workflows: firmware flashing sequences, security provisioning, and deployment of software mitigations.
  • Collaborate with data center architects, ODMs, and OEMs to define factory and deployment requirements for production ramp.
  • Champion reliability, debuggability, and optimization in firmware, diagnostics, and deployment tools.
  • Drive pre-silicon readiness for factory and manufacturing workflows using simulation and emulation technologies.
  • Mentor architects and engineering teams and make technical decisions under ambiguity.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience required for the role. Qualifications listed as "ways to stand out" are shown as nice-to-have.

  • 8+ years of experience in system architecture and design for server/rack-scale systems.
  • Deep experience designing scalable, high-performance server architectures at the software/hardware interface.
  • Strong understanding of networking technologies and protocols (Ethernet, InfiniBand).
  • Experience with complex system software for accelerators (GPUs, DPUs, FPGAs).
  • Expertise in out-of-band and in-band management architectures and system management protocols (e.g., Redfish, IPMI).
  • Proven ability to improve program execution via left-shift strategies and de-risking techniques.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to lead cross-functional engineering efforts.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with large-scale cloud and cluster-level deployment and management systems.
  • Track record of leading data-center products across lifecycle stages: inception, pre-silicon development, post-silicon bring-up, manufacturing, and deployment.

Education Requirements

BS or MS in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
