Senior Software Engineer, Hardware Tools and Methodology Development
Role Summary
Member of the NVIDIA Clocks group responsible for building and maintaining software tools and automated flows to generate and validate Verilog RTL across NVIDIA products. The role combines algorithm development and RTL design to deliver reliable toolchains and support cross-functional teams.
This is a hybrid role based in Santa Clara, CA.
Experience Level
Senior. The posting requests at least 3+ years of work experience; the title indicates a senior-level role.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
- Architect, design, develop, and support tools for RTL generation across products.
- Architect automated workflows to manage deliverables for cross-functional teams.
- Improve C++ algorithms for automated connectivity, automatic logic insertion, and post-processing of Verilog RTL.
- Improve the quality, reliability, and maintainability of existing tools and flows.
Requirements
Must-have:
- At least 3+ years of professional experience.
- Strong C++ coding skills.
- Good understanding of ASIC design and Verilog RTL.
- Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.
Nice-to-have:
- Prior experience in RTL design, verification, and synthesis.
- Proficiency with Perl, Python, and Make scripting.
- Knowledge of clocks/resets design and verification.
Education Requirements
BS required or MS preferred in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field — or equivalent practical experience.
