Job Title

Senior Software Engineer - Firmware Validation

Role Summary

Validate and qualify embedded firmware, system software, and platform components for Arm-based platforms. Work with a software engineering team in the Bangalore office to develop test strategies, automation, and diagnostics for pre-silicon and post-silicon hardware bring-up and releases.

Experience Level

Senior - typically requires 5+ years of experience in QA, firmware or system software validation.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include designing and executing validation, debugging, and automation to ensure firmware and system software quality.

  • Develop and execute validation and QA scenarios for embedded firmware, system software, and platform components across pre-silicon and post-silicon environments.
  • Create robust test strategies, test plans, and automation methodologies for validation environments.
  • Validate and debug high-speed and low-speed interfaces (PCIe, DDR, I2C, SPI, SPMI, UART).
  • Author and run functional, regression, stress, stability, and performance tests for embedded Linux stacks and firmware components.
  • Analyze failures using log/crash-dump analysis, trace collection, and low-level debugging to identify root causes and drive fixes.
  • Perform silicon bring-up, board validation, firmware integration, and system-level validation on ARM-based platforms.
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards, validation processes, and software development best practices.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to triage issues and support software releases.
