Senior Software Engineer - DRIVE SW
Role Summary
Develop low-level and system software for the NVIDIA DRIVE platform used in autonomous vehicles. The role focuses on platform bring-up, system software architecture across OS variants, and creating safety- and security-compliant firmware and services for Tegra SoC-based systems.
Work with hardware bring-up teams and cross-functional software groups to debug and resolve complex interactions across the DRIVE software stack.
Experience Level
Senior — typically 5+ years of embedded systems or system software development experience.
Responsibilities
Core responsibilities include design, implementation, and verification of system software for automotive platforms.
- Design and implement safety (ISO 26262) and security (ISO 21434) compliant system software for the DRIVE platform.
- Perform bring-up and development activities for Tegra SoC hardware and platform subsystems.
- Architect unified, scalable software that works across multiple OS flavors (e.g., QNX, Linux).
- Debug and resolve complex cross-component interactions across the DRIVE software stack.
- Collaborate with hardware, firmware, and systems teams during pre-silicon and post-silicon phases.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience.
- 5+ years of embedded systems or system software design and development.
- Strong understanding of computer architecture and operating system fundamentals.
- Experience with platform bring-up, bootloaders, RTOS-based development, or scalable system software architectures.
- Proficient in C/C++ and Python with strong debugging skills and low-level programming experience.
- Ability to work effectively on cross-functional teams and contribute from design through product delivery.
Nice-to-have:
- Hands-on experience with ISO 26262 and ISO 21434 processes.
- Experience taking features from inception through productization and release.
Education Requirements
BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering (as stated in the posting).
