Senior Software Engineer, Compiler (LLVM)

Role Summary

Senior member of the Compiler team responsible for improving code generation and performance for Quadric's GPNPU. The role involves implementing support for new processor features, developing compiler passes, and collaborating with hardware and software teams to co-optimize compiler strategy and architecture.

Experience Level

Senior-level. Requires a minimum of 5+ years of compiler development experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include optimizing code generation, extending compiler support for new architecture features, and supporting engineering teams and customers.

  • Develop and enhance Quadric's LLVM-based compiler toolchain.
  • Implement front-end and back-end LLVM passes and optimizations.
  • Collaborate with hardware designers to co-optimize compiler strategy and processor architecture.
  • Define and refine the programming model for the platform.
  • Support internal and external customers in debugging and performance tuning.
  • Participate in the development process across the engineering organization to deliver production-quality compiler features.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience.

  • At least 5 years of practical compiler development experience, including optimization and code generation.
  • Proficiency in C++ (post-C++11).
  • Experience working with the LLVM or GCC codebase.
  • Strong background in graph algorithms and related data structures.
  • Knowledge of front-end and back-end compiler techniques.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with compiler strategies for data-parallel processors (GPUs, DSPs).
  • Familiarity with end-to-end toolchains, including linkers and debuggers.

Education Requirements

MS or PhD in Computer Science is specified in the posting.
