Job Title

Senior Software Engineer (Codegen)

Role Summary

Work on the core of Speedata's software stack to design and implement performance-critical code that translates database operations into hardware-optimized implementations for the Analytics Processing Unit (APU).

Collaborate with Hardware & Software engineering leads to co-design architecture, research algorithms for data analytics and hardware acceleration, and deliver production-grade, high-performance components.

Experience Level

Senior — requires approximately 8+ years of professional software development experience in a deep-tech context.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include designing efficient algorithms, implementing performance-critical software, and collaborating across disciplines.

  • Lead design and implementation of highly efficient algorithms to maximize APU performance.
  • Develop time-critical Python components that translate database operations to performant, hardware-optimized C++.
  • Co-design next-generation architecture with hardware and software leads.
  • Research and evaluate state-of-the-art algorithms and hardware-acceleration techniques for analytics workloads.
  • Profile and optimize performance-critical code and systems.
  • Communicate technical decisions and collaborate across cross-functional teams.

Requirements

Must-have skills and experience required to perform the role; nice-to-have items are listed separately.

  • 8+ years of software development experience in a deep-tech or performance-critical context.
  • Strong proficiency in Python for developing time-critical components.
  • Knowledge of algorithms and data structures and their application to analytics problems.
  • Ability to learn new topics, tools and languages independently.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with C++ and performance optimization techniques.
  • Familiarity with hardware systems, compilers, computer architecture, and low-level programming.
  • Experience with databases and SQL.
  • Experience developing for hardware-accelerated or embedded systems.

Education Requirements

BSc or higher degree in Computer Science or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
