Senior Software Engineer
Role Summary
Join Arm's Solutions Engineering UK methodology team to develop internal software and methodologies that support silicon design, timing analysis and implementation flows. The role applies software engineering to analyze and optimize design data, integrate with EDA tools, and improve silicon development workflows.
The team collaborates with silicon engineers to turn domain problems into robust, maintainable software and automation.

Responsibilities
Deliver software and technical leadership for tools used in silicon development and implementation methodology.
- Design, implement and maintain robust, maintainable software for engineering workflows and silicon toolchains.
- Develop algorithms to analyze and optimize timing and design data.
- Integrate with EDA tools and compute infrastructure.
- Drive architecture decisions, perform and lead code reviews, and maintain software quality.
- Apply automated testing, continuous integration and performance analysis practices.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience.
- Proven professional software engineering experience delivering substantial systems or engineering tools.
- Strong Python development skills, including software design, debugging and testing.
- Strong code review ability; able to read unfamiliar code and identify correctness and maintainability issues.
- Good knowledge of algorithms, data structures and software architecture.
- Experience developing software on Linux using modern version control, testing and CI practices.
- Effective communication and collaboration with engineering teams.
Nice-to-have:
- Rust, C++, Tcl or SystemVerilog for performance-sensitive or systems software.
- Background in semiconductor, VLSI, EDA, static timing analysis or RTL-to-GDS implementation flows.
- Familiarity with synchronous digital design concepts, timing constraints or microprocessor architecture.
- Experience with large-scale data processing or optimization for performance-sensitive software.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted coding tools for reviewing or validating generated code.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, electronics engineering or another relevant STEM discipline β or equivalent professional experience.
