Role Summary

Embedded software engineer on the broadband software team working in a restricted classified area. Responsible for developing and maintaining low-level software for Linux-based embedded systems and microcontroller-based products.

Work closely with hardware engineers during board bring-up and debugging to deliver reliable embedded solutions for Motorola Solutions.

Experience Level

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include development, integration and validation of embedded software and collaborating with hardware teams.

• Design, implement and maintain embedded software for Linux-based systems.
• Develop firmware and software for microcontroller-based components.
• Work with real-time operating systems (Zephyr, FreeRTOS) and embedded Linux environments.
• Collaborate with hardware engineers on board bring-up and system integration.
• Troubleshoot low-level issues and participate in debugging and validation activities.
• Participate in code reviews, documentation and delivery of production-ready software.

Requirements

• Must-have: Significant experience developing for Linux-based embedded systems and microcontrollers.
• Must-have: Hands-on experience with operating systems such as Linux, Zephyr or FreeRTOS.

• Nice-to-have: Experience writing device drivers.
