Role Summary

Develop and maintain C#/.NET and C++ software for GUI, data analysis, and system-level functions within KLA’s Semiconductor Products and Customers business unit. Work cross-functionally on architecture, integration with hardware, and system/subsystem requirements.

The role focuses on delivering reliable, high-performance, multithreaded software, participating in design reviews, and troubleshooting/diagnosing system issues.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include delivering components, collaborating across the development lifecycle, and improving system reliability and performance.

• Estimate, implement, and deliver well-defined features/components on schedule; communicate risks and trade-offs.
• Define architecture and translate system- and subsystem-level requirements into designs and specifications.
• Implement and debug multithreaded code; integrate software with hardware and across subsystem boundaries.
• Develop GUI and data-analysis functionality using C#/.NET and C++; write maintainable code and unit/integration tests.
• Use profiling and diagnostics to improve performance, memory usage, reliability, and security.
• Participate in design reviews; incorporate stakeholder feedback and contribute to root-cause analysis and fixes.
• Collaborate with global teams across the US, Europe, and Asia; communicate technical information clearly to engineers, customers, and suppliers.
• Occasional travel (<10%) to company sites, customer sites, or other business locations, including possible international travel.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and attributes, plus preferred skills.

• Strong foundation in software engineering fundamentals: architecture, data structures, design patterns, event-driven and multithreaded design, testing, and debugging.
• Proficient in Microsoft .NET (C#, VB.NET) and C++ development.
• Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio and source control systems such as Git.
• Experience building unit and integration tests; adherence to coding and design standards.
• Effective communicator; able to present technical information and work across interdisciplinary teams.
• Self-driven, systematic problem-solver with the ability to learn new technologies independently.
• Use AI-assisted development tools responsibly and in accordance with security policies.

Preferred:

• Experience contributing to architecture and design for complex subsystems and influencing technical decisions.
• Experience improving performance, diagnostics, and observability for system-level software.
• Experience with system integration, software releases for complex systems, and delivering AI/ML capabilities in products.
• UX skills such as wireframing, prototyping, and user-flow design.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree required with significant relevant experience; Master's or advanced degree desired. Relevant fields: Software, Electrical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering, or Physics. (The posting specifies degree requirements and relevant fields as above.)
