Job Title

Senior Software Engineer, AI Networking

Role Summary

Technical leader on NVIDIA's networking software team focused on AI networking products (BlueField DPU and ConnectX). Lead design and development of high-performance, hardware-accelerated networking software and drive customer engagements to production.

Experience Level

Senior β€” requires substantial industry experience and technical leadership (see Requirements).

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include architecture, development, and customer-facing technical leadership for AI networking products.

  • Architect, design, and implement scalable, high-performance hardware-accelerated software for BlueField DPU and ConnectX product lines.
  • Lead technical engagements with hyperscalers: design-in, coding, bring-up, performance tuning, failure analysis, and production hardening.
  • Collaborate with engineering, product, and architecture teams to convert customer requirements into product features, reference architectures, and tooling.
  • Improve performance, reliability, and debuggability across customer stacks and translate findings into product, firmware, and software roadmap items.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience.

  • 8+ years of relevant industry experience, including technical leadership across complex systems.
  • Deep knowledge of networking protocols and distributed systems, including RoCE/InfiniBand and L1–L4 fundamentals.
  • Proven low-level software expertise in C/C++ and experience debugging across firmware, drivers, OS, and applications.
  • Experience in high-performance networking and system-level debugging (packet drops, retransmissions, congestion, QoS, ordering, buffer management).
  • Strong communication and cross-organizational collaboration skills.
  • Result-driven, able to multitask in a dynamic environment with shifting priorities.

Nice-to-have

  • Customer-facing technical leadership experience with hyperscalers/CSPs.
  • Hands-on experience with RDMA verbs, DPDK, DOCA, NCCL, CUDA-aware networking, congestion control, and large-scale performance tuning.
  • Experience building telemetry, automation, and internal tools to improve triage and operations.
  • Experience leading multi-team initiatives across geographies and time zones; familiarity using AI tools to accelerate engineering workflows.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related science degree β€” or equivalent practical experience.
