Senior Software Engineer

Role Summary

Develop software to support Renesas digital power ICs used by datacenter and infrastructure customers. Work within a SoC development team, collaborating with firmware, hardware, application engineers and customers to deliver user-facing software and tools.

This role focuses on enabling hardware features through reliable, well-architected software across languages and UI frameworks.

Experience Level

Senior - requires 5+ years of professional software development experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include development, requirements gathering, and quality assurance for customer-facing software.

• Design, implement, test, and maintain software that interfaces with ICs and firmware.
• Gather and clarify software requirements from customers, application engineers, hardware and firmware teams.
• Develop across a range of languages and frameworks (Python, PySide/QT) and contribute to new and existing projects.
• Participate in code reviews and ensure quality through unit tests and documentation.

• Must-have: 5+ years software development experience.
• Proficient in Python; strong coding and UI development skills.
• Good understanding of software architecture and design principles; experience with unit testing and behavior-driven development.
• Strong attention to quality: testing, code reviews, and documentation.
• Self-motivated, able to take ownership of features or modules with limited supervision.
• Highly developed written and verbal cross-functional communication skills.

• Nice-to-have: RESTful API design and web technologies (HTML/JavaScript).
• Experience with basic electronics, microcontroller programming, and bus communications.
• Familiarity with DevOps tooling (JIRA, Confluence, GitLab).

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or master’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
