Senior Software Engineer
Role Summary
Design and implement high-performance, low-latency software for advanced semiconductor equipment (metrology, inspection, process control). Work on real-time control, data acquisition, image processing, and hardware-software integration for precision systems.
Collaborate with systems, electrical, mechanical, product, and field teams; mentor junior engineers and contribute to system architecture and testing strategies.

Responsibilities
Deliver production-quality software that interfaces with precision hardware and meets strict performance and timing requirements.
- Design, develop, and maintain high-performance, scalable software systems for semiconductor equipment.
- Implement real-time control, data acquisition, and image processing applications.
- Integrate software with sensors, motion systems, optics, embedded controllers, and other hardware.
- Participate in system architecture, performance optimization, and low-latency design.
- Develop and execute unit, integration, and system-level tests; participate in code reviews.
- Debug complex hardware-software interaction issues and support manufacturing, installation, and field service.
- Mentor junior engineers and document designs and interfaces.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience.
- 5+ years professional software development experience working on complex systems or hardware-integrated environments.
- Proficiency in one or more of: C++, C#, Python.
- Strong object-oriented design, data structures, and algorithms skills.
- Experience with multithreading, concurrency, and real-time systems.
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and software testing practices.
- Proven ability to debug cross-domain issues involving hardware and embedded controllers.
- Effective communication, teamwork, and ownership mindset.
- May require U.S. export licensing review for applicants who are not U.S. citizens or protected persons.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience in semiconductor equipment, photonics, robotics, or precision instrumentation.
- Motion control, machine vision, or image processing experience.
- Experience with RTOS or embedded systems, distributed systems, high-throughput data processing, or UI frameworks (e.g., Qt, WPF).
- Exposure to cloud-based data infrastructure or Industry 4.0 environments.
Education Requirements
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field is listed as the preferred academic background.
