Senior Software Engineer

Role Summary

Join the Fast Models team to develop high-performance software models of Arm-based systems and components used for early software development, architecture exploration, and system validation before silicon availability. Work with hardware and software teams to transform hardware designs and specifications into executable models.

Senior — requires 6–9 years of relevant software or embedded systems experience.

Responsibilities

The role involves end-to-end development and integration of system and component models and validation on Arm-based platforms.

  • Design, implement, debug, test, and document firmware and system software components.
  • Perform and participate in design and code reviews.
  • Interface and integrate models and components with other hardware and software teams.
  • Analyze failures using log and crash-dump analysis, trace collection, and low-level debugging to determine root causes.
  • Perform silicon bring-up, board validation, firmware integration, and system-level validation on Arm-based embedded platforms.
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards, validation processes, and software development best practices.

Requirements

Key technical skills and experience required; separate list for desirable skills.

  • Must-have:
    • 6–9 years of professional experience in software or embedded systems development.
    • Proficiency in C programming and experience designing embedded applications.
    • Experience with Python and Bash/Shell scripting.
    • Knowledge of embedded Linux software stack.
    • Proficient with Git and GitLab/GitHub APIs and version-control scripting.
    • Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
    • Good communication and teamwork skills; comfortable resolving ambiguity.
  • Nice-to-have:
    • Familiarity with Arm CPU and SoC system architectures.
    • Proficiency in C++ for systems or embedded development and experience with low-level components.
    • Knowledge of Arm architecture details (cache hierarchy, coherency fabric topology such as CMN) and boot processes, including early boot and firmware–hardware interaction.
