Role Summary

This position sits on the Analysis Software Division core development team for AiDiffract, an optical critical-dimension (OCD) metrology analysis system. The role participates across the software development lifecycle: requirements, design, implementation, testing, deployment, and maintenance.

Main mission: design and deliver robust, testable software for semiconductor metrology and improve development and CI/CD processes.

Senior - the posting specifies 2+ years of professional software development experience and expects senior-level responsibilities in design and engineering practices.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include product development, quality assurance, and CI/CD improvements.

• Design, implement, and maintain software features for semiconductor device metrology (AiDiffract).
• Improve software quality through design reviews, code reviews, unit testing, refactoring, and other disciplined engineering practices.
• Collaborate with applications engineers, algorithm developers, SQA engineers, and users throughout the product lifecycle.
• Participate in test automation efforts and integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines; re-architect and refactor legacy systems as needed.
• Introduce and maintain static/dynamic analysis tools, security scanning, and other tooling to improve reliability and security.
• Identify process and toolchain inefficiencies and drive operational excellence within the team.
• Apply AI-assisted development tools responsibly to improve productivity; develop and maintain workflows for human review, automated testing, and validation of AI-generated code.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills, tools, and experience.

• Proficiency in at least one of: C/C++, C#, or Python.
• Strong understanding of data structures, design patterns, and object-oriented design.
• Experience debugging and troubleshooting complex software systems.
• Familiarity with agile development and DevOps practices; experience with CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience developing on Windows using Visual Studio and Azure DevOps.
• Hands-on experience using AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT) and ability to critically evaluate and integrate AI-generated suggestions into production-quality code.
• Understanding of software security, intellectual property, and data privacy considerations in enterprise software development.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.

Education Requirements

BS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Applied Mathematics, or a related discipline is listed as required. Preferred: MS or PhD in the same fields.
