Job Title

Senior Software Development Engineer - Silicon Development Infrastructure

Role Summary

Design, build, and operate infrastructure and tooling that accelerate silicon development for Annapurna Labs. Work with chip design, verification, emulation, and software teams to reduce cycle time and improve reliability of development workflows.

Experience Level

Senior-level. Posting requires at least 5+ years of professional software development and systems engineering experience.

Responsibilities

You will own platform delivery, automation, and operations to support silicon development workflows.

  • Partner with silicon design, verification, emulation, and software teams to understand workflows and reduce bottlenecks.
  • Design, implement, and operate cloud infrastructure and HPC clusters (e.g., schedulers like Slurm).
  • Build tooling and automation to eliminate manual toil and shorten time-to-results for teams.
  • Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure-as-code and service deployments with testing and rollback mechanisms.
  • Implement monitoring, diagnostics, alerting, and observability to surface actionable insights on utilization, reliability, and cost.
  • Establish incident response processes, runbooks, and documentation; participate in postmortems.
  • Optimize platform reliability, performance, and cost-efficiency from design through production operation.
  • Anticipate failures and implement preventive measures to reduce operational toil and improve resilience.

Requirements

Key must-have technical skills and experience.

Must have:

  • 5+ years of professional (non-internship) software development experience.
  • 5+ years of systems engineering and administration experience (networking, storage, operating systems).
  • 5+ years leading design or architecture of systems (reliability, scaling, design patterns).
  • Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (examples listed below).
  • Hands-on experience with systems engineering fundamentals and large-scale infrastructure operations.

Nice to have / Preferred:

  • Experience with AWS cloud solutions and DevOps practices.
  • Experience automating, deploying, and supporting large-scale infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience with Linux/Unix environments and monitoring/incident management at scale.
  • Experience with HPC clusters and workload schedulers such as Slurm.
  • Familiarity with semiconductor development workflows or electronic design automation (EDA) environments.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
