Senior Software Development Engineer in Test, Confidential Computing (SDET)

Role Summary

Join NVIDIA's Confidential Computing QA team to design, build, and operate large-scale test and automation systems that validate compute software and silicon across distributed servers and cloud environments. The role focuses on developing test plans, automation frameworks, and infrastructure to run hundreds of tests per day on heterogeneous servers with NVIDIA GPUs.

The team delivers full lifecycle automation and validation tools to drive reliable releases for compute architectures and turnkey systems.

Experience Level

Senior β€” typically 8+ years of relevant software test and automation experience is expected.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include test planning, automation development, and operating large-scale validation infrastructure.

  • Develop test plans and orchestrate testing for compute software releases across GPU platforms and OEM systems.
  • Design and implement scalable automation frameworks and test execution workflows for distributed heterogeneous servers and cloud farms.
  • Integrate AI tools to improve test generation, execution efficiency, and defect detection.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define features, implement automation, and productize testing tools.
  • Build and operate automation infrastructure components and support automation of manual test cases.
  • Improve code coverage, reliability, and usability of test systems; run regression and functional tests for CUDA/driver features.
  • Work in an agile development environment with high production quality standards.

Must-have:

  • Strong experience with Linux, Python, C and C++ for test and infrastructure development.
  • Proven experience applying AI tools to automation, test-plan generation, or defect detection in daily workflows.
  • Deep understanding of orchestration and automation systems, data center and cloud architectures.
  • Experience with QA methodology, test strategy, and developing high-quality test plans and execution frameworks.
  • Experience building and tuning test setups across hardware and software stacks; cluster and cluster-management knowledge.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with hypervisors and virtualization platforms (Xen, KVM, Hyper-V).
  • Experience with configuration/deployment tools (Ansible), containers (Docker), and cloud infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with cross-compilation toolchains and build systems (cmake, automake/autoconf, meson).
  • Background in parallel programming (CUDA C/C++, OpenACC) and embedded system features.

Education Requirements

BS or MS in Engineering (or equivalent practical experience) as stated in the posting.
