Senior Software Applications Engineer

Role Summary

Provide technical support and applications engineering for customers using Imagination GPU and related software products, primarily in the Desktop & data centre segment. Work within a team of software and hardware applications engineers to help customers integrate, debug, validate and optimise products that use Imagination cores and drivers.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include customer support across product development, debugging, validation and performance analysis, plus product ownership and customer-facing documentation and training.

• Guide and support customers from initial bring-up through debugging to production.
• Investigate customer issues, perform root-cause analysis and propose fixes or workarounds.
• Work on feature integration, application support and performance analysis for high-profile projects.
• Take ownership of key software products (e.g., graphics processors) and share technical implementation knowledge with the team.
• Create documentation and train customers on development kits, drivers and coding techniques.
• Collaborate with internal teams to improve quality, stability and performance.

Requirements

Core technical skills and customer-facing experience required; follow-on items are desirable.

• Must-have: Experience programming in low-level languages such as C/C++ (industry, academia or projects).
• Must-have: Experience with DirectX API.
• Must-have: Skilled in software debugging and validation on modern OS platforms (Windows, Linux, Android).
• Must-have: Understanding of device drivers within high-level operating systems.
• Must-have: Strong written and verbal communication skills and excellent problem-solving ability.
• Nice-to-have: Experience with OpenGL, OpenCL or Vulkan and with graphics architecture concepts.
• Nice-to-have: Prior customer-facing or applications engineering experience supporting SoC/GPU projects.
