Senior SoC/RTL Design Engineer
QualcommJob Title
Senior SoC/RTL Design Engineer
Role Summary
Design and deliver complex ASICs and SoCs for wireless, networking, computing, and consumer electronics products. Work on digital architecture, Verilog RTL implementation, verification, and high-speed mixed-signal board design from specification through production.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define verification and validation subsystems, perform component evaluation and debugging, and ensure designs meet performance, power, and interface requirements.
Experience Level
Senior. Years of experience not specified in the posting.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include end-to-end digital and board-level design, verification, and debug for ASIC/SoC projects.
- Architect, code (Verilog RTL), implement, and verify digital blocks and SoC subsystems.
- Deliver complex ASICs from functional specification to final product.
- Perform high-speed digital and mixed-signal board design: requirements, schematic capture, component placement, layout review, production, and verification.
- Evaluate components, optimize circuits, and execute unit-level testing for mobile and wireless designs.
- Test and debug platform hardware, digital circuit components, and RF elements; perform circuit-level debug.
- Support design engineers in setting up and executing complex tests and compiling test data into reports and presentations.
- Plan and execute verification and validation subsystems for SoC integration; participate in design reviews and project meetings.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience; nice-to-have items listed separately.
- Must-have: Proven experience in digital ASIC/SoC design with Verilog RTL coding, implementation, and verification.
- Must-have: Experience with high-speed digital design and board-level work including schematic capture and layout review.
- Must-have: Hands-on test, debug, and component evaluation experience; ability to perform circuit-level debug and produce technical reports.
- Must-have: Ability to deliver complex designs that meet performance, power, and interface requirements and are verifiable and reusable.
- Nice-to-have: Experience with mobile wireless standards/protocols and working in mobile or networking product environments.
- Nice-to-have: Experience with mixed-signal design practices and RF debugging.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills; experience working cross-functionally in engineering teams.
Education Requirements
Posting specifies acceptance of a Master’s degree (or foreign academic equivalent) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. Equivalent practical experience is implied by standard industry practice but not explicitly detailed.
