Job Title
Senior SoC Logic Design Engineer
Role Summary
Design and deliver System-on-Chip (SoC) logic for data center, client, networking and AI products. Lead RTL engineers to integrate IP blocks and subsystems into full-chip or discrete component designs, and ensure designs meet performance, power, area and security objectives.
Work with cross-functional teams (IP providers, verification, physical design) to drive quality, handoff processes, and design convergence from RTL through implementation.
Experience Level
Senior β position requires extensive experience (guidance from posting: Bachelor's +12 years or Master's +10 years).
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
- Develop RTL, implement register-transfer level coding and run simulations for SoC designs.
- Integrate IP blocks and subsystems into a full-chip SoC or discrete component design.
- Define and apply architecture and microarchitecture features for logic blocks under design.
- Perform quality checks from RTL to timing and power convergence; ensure alignment with design goals.
- Write and optimize RTL for power, performance, area, and timing while maintaining implementation integrity.
- Review verification plans and implementations; resolve failing RTL tests and implement corrective measures.
- Follow secure development practices to address security threats and meet security objectives.
- Collaborate with IP providers to integrate and validate IPs at the SoC level.
- Drive quality assurance and efficient IP/SoC handoff processes.
- Lead and mentor a team of RTL engineers delivering advanced SoCs and subsystems.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience:
- Proven proficiency in RTL design, coding, and simulation techniques.
- Strong understanding of low-power design, SoC integration, and system architecture.
- Experience debugging microarchitecture and simulation failures.
- Expertise applying front-end SoC quality and efficiency guardrails.
- Experience leading engineering teams and collaborating across IP, verification, and implementation teams.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with Server, Client, Networking, or AI SoC development and driving process or methodology improvements.
Education Requirements
Minimum: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field with 12+ years of experience; OR Master's degree in those fields with 10+ years of experience. Fields of study referenced: Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related technical fields.
