Senior SoC Engineer
Role Summary
As a Senior SoC Engineer on the SOC Engineering team in Da Nang, you will develop and deploy SoC designs using Synopsys EDA tools and IP. You will work with customers and internal teams to define flows from RTL/Verilog through GDS, drive place-and-route and signoff activities, and mentor junior engineers.
The role focuses on delivering robust P&R and signoff solutions, providing technical advisory to customers, and collaborating with Business Units and Sales to deploy tool and IP solutions.
Experience Level
Senior — 5 to 10 years of hands-on experience in Place & Route domains, specifically with Fusion Compiler/ICC2.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
- Develop and implement SoC design flows from Verilog to GDS using Synopsys EDA tools and IP.
- Provide technical consulting to customer design and CAD teams and support turnkey projects.
- Debug P&R, extraction, timing, IREM, and physical verification issues and drive problem resolution.
- Collaborate with Business Units, Application Engineering, and Sales to broaden and deploy solutions.
- Set task-level goals, meet schedules, and deliver project outcomes with limited supervision.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior team members.
Requirements
Must-have and preferred qualifications:
- Must-have: 5–10 years of hands-on Place & Route experience with Fusion Compiler/ICC2; strong debugging skills and solid understanding of P&R, extraction, timing, IREM, and physical verification fundamentals.
- Must-have: Proficiency in TCL and PERL scripting.
- Must-have: Effective English communication, ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams, and experience mentoring junior engineers.
- Nice-to-have: Experience with signoff tools such as PrimeTime, RedHawk, StarRC, or ICV.
Education Requirements
BS, MS, or PhD in Electronics Engineering, Electromechanics, or Telecommunications.
