Senior SoC Emulation Validation Engineer
Intel CorporationJob Title
Senior SoC Emulation Validation Engineer
Role Summary
Validate full-chip Intel client SoC designs using emulation and pre-silicon platforms. Work with design teams and architects to exercise RTL, find functional issues, and ensure the SoC meets specifications before silicon tape-out.
Primary locations: Penang (primary) with an additional site in Kulim. Role supports Intel's hybrid work model.
Experience Level
Senior - requires significant hands-on experience in emulation and full-chip validation. The posting specifies at least 6 years of experience in emulation.
Responsibilities
Accountabilities include building, validating, and improving emulation-based validation platforms and flows for SoC full-chip verification.
- Create emulation models from RTL and define RTL changes required for emulation.
- Develop and integrate hardware and software collaterals with the emulation model.
- Test, debug, and validate emulation models and associated collateral to find functional bugs.
- Define validation strategy, methodology, and test plans for SoC full-chip validation.
- Develop new HW/SW capabilities and tools to accelerate RTL execution and improve emulation usability.
- Improve RTL validation and debugging workflows on the emulation platform.
- Guide IU/SoC validation teams to optimize environments, test suites, and methodologies for emulation efficiency.
- Develop automation, flows, and scripts to improve emulation ease-of-use and equipment utilization.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience to perform the role.
- Minimum 6 years of hands-on experience in emulation for pre-silicon validation.
- Strong RTL knowledge and experience working closely with RTL design teams and architects.
- Proven experience creating and validating emulation models and integrating HW/SW collaterals.
- Skilled in debugging failing RTL tests and root-cause analysis on emulation platforms.
- Experience developing automation, scripts, and flows to improve validation throughput and utilization.
- Experience defining validation strategies, test plans, and exercising boundary/special-case conditions.
- Ability to interface with validation teams and provide guidance to optimize tests for emulation.
- Nice-to-have: experience applying ML/AI techniques to improve validation efficiency and quality.
