Experience Level
Senior β 8+ years of relevant SoC verification or related engineering experience.
Responsibilities
Primary accountabilities include planning and executing verification activities from block to SoC level and driving debug and quality improvement.
- Perform functional logic verification of integrated SoCs to validate design against specifications.
- Define and implement scalable, reusable verification plans, testbenches, and environments for blocks, subsystems, and SoCs.
- Develop and run regression suites using simulation, emulation, and system-level models to analyze functionality, performance, and power.
- Identify, reproduce, root-cause, and debug pre-silicon issues and implement fixes or test changes.
- Collaborate with architects, microarchitects, RTL developers, post-silicon, and physical design teams to improve verification coverage and methodology.
- Design and execute security-focused tests to ensure adequate security coverage during verification and regression.
- Maintain and evolve verification infrastructure and methodologies; incorporate lessons from post-silicon validation.
- Document verification plans and participate in technical reviews with design and architecture teams.
Requirements
Must-have skills and experience required to be considered for this role; preferred items noted separately.
- Minimum 8+ years of professional experience in SoC verification, including test planning, implementation, and debug.
- Proficiency in SystemVerilog and experience with OVM/UVM methodologies and SoC test environment/verification component development.
- Experience with hardware simulation, emulation tools, and pre-silicon debug/root-cause analysis.
- Solid understanding of system architecture, SoC architecture, and microarchitecture concepts.
- Proven ability to develop scalable, reusable verification environments and work closely with RTL designers and architects.
- Strong technical leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills; experience mentoring engineers.
- Nice-to-have: Python or other scripting for verification automation; low-power design/verification experience; familiarity with DFT tools and techniques.
