Senior SoC Design Engineer
Role Summary
Responsible for RTL integration and front-end system-on-chip (SoC) design, including padring, pinmuxing, SOC assembly, and fuse/floor-sweep design. Member of the NVIDIA SoC engineering group working on Tegra and GPU chips.
The role drives methodologies and automation to improve SoC creation, coordinates ASIC execution timelines with chip management, and works closely with System Architecture, unit-level ASIC, Physical Design, CAD, Package Design, DFT and other cross-functional teams.
Experience Level
Senior — 2+ years of industry experience in chip design (as specified in the posting).
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Define and develop system-level methodologies, tools, and IP to enable efficient, scalable SoC development.
- Identify front-end implementation pain points and propose practical automation or process improvements.
- Perform and drive front-end design quality checks and reviews with cross-functional teams.
- Coordinate with chip management to set ASIC execution timelines and align goals across functional groups.
- Contribute to creation of methodologies that improve efficiency and flexibility of future SoCs.
Requirements
Must-have skills and experience:
- 2+ years industry experience in chip design, specializing in SoC integration and design automation.
- Experience in RTL design (Verilog) and SoC design/implementation flow.
- Strong scripting and coding skills (Perl, Python, or similar).
- Experience with RTL build and design automation tools and flows.
- Exposure to multiple chip design functions and ability to collaborate on cross-functional problems.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
Nice-to-have:
- Padring and fuse / floor-sweep design experience.
- Experience with synthesis, physical design, and DFT.
Education Requirements
B.Tech or M.Tech in Electronics or Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
