Senior SLT Equipment Engineer
Role Summary
Provide technical leadership for system-level test (SLT) equipment during new product introduction (NPI), equipment deployment, and production support. Work with internal teams and external OEMs to diagnose and resolve equipment and test issues that affect yield, throughput, and cost.
Experience Level
Senior-level. The role expects an experienced engineer able to lead troubleshooting and equipment qualification; preferred experience guidance available under Education Requirements.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include supporting SLT equipment across NPI and production, improving equipment effectiveness, and maintaining quality documentation.
- Oversee NPI equipment installation on the test floor, including conversion and commissioning.
- Support equipment and hardware qualification and develop maintenance strategies.
- Troubleshoot equipment test issues; perform root-cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
- Provide in-depth technical assistance to engineering teams and interface with external developers/OEMs.
- Initiate engineering changes to optimize overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) and reduce maintenance costs.
- Establish and maintain test equipment documentation to meet ISO/quality requirements.
- Train lab engineering users and cultivate technical proficiency among lab technicians.
Requirements
Must-have skills and experience to perform the role effectively.
- Proven experience supporting SLT/system-level test equipment, including installation, qualification, commissioning, and maintenance.
- Working knowledge of IC technologies and semiconductor test processes.
- Strong analytical skills for troubleshooting and root-cause analysis.
- Ability to work independently, lead technical activities, and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills; able to provide training to engineers and technicians.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with Hontech SLT Handlers and Chroma SLT Handlers.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical/Electronics/Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline (preferred with >4 years relevant experience); OR Diploma in an engineering discipline (preferred with >6 years relevant experience). Equivalent practical experience is acceptable where indicated.
