Senior Silicon Validation Engineer

Role Summary

This role validates mixed-signal silicon and system-level behavior for high-volume custom IC products in the advanced circuits and power solutions business. The engineer will develop validation hardware, create and execute validation plans, build automation and test scripts, debug device and setup issues, and work with design, system and application teams to close issues and support customer engagements.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include hardware, software and test strategy for silicon validation.

• Design validation boards: schematics, layout and modularization aligned with customer use cases and EVMs.
• Create and document comprehensive validation plans covering device and system environments.
• Define validation strategy across hardware, software and instrumentation.
• Develop and implement validation test cases and automation using scripting languages (e.g., Python, TestStand, LabVIEW).
• Bring devices to bench, perform system-level and parametric tests, and apply rigorous fault-isolation and break-the-part debugging.
• Debug device and setup-related issues and drive them to closure independently.
• Perform correlation studies between ATE and bench characterization results.
• Collaborate with system, design and application engineers to identify fixes, provide workarounds, and support customer issue resolution.

Requirements

Must-have and preferred skills for successful performance in this role.

• Must-have: 3+ years of silicon validation experience for mixed-signal devices.
• Must-have: Experience executing system-level and parametric bench tests and driving issues to closure.
• Nice-to-have: Hardware debugging, schematic and PCB layout experience.
• Nice-to-have: Experience simulating or designing inverters and DC-DC converters.
• Nice-to-have: Familiarity with tools such as Simplis, MATLAB, Altium, PSPICE.
• Nice-to-have: Proficiency in scripting and test automation (Python, TestStand, LabVIEW).
• Nice-to-have: Experience with physical layout tradeoffs: grounding, routing and signal integrity.
• Other: Strong time management, clear written and verbal communication, and ability to work with customers and cross-functional teams.
